Atmospheric Water Generator Humidity Requirements

How relative humidity, temperature and dew point affect condensation-based atmospheric water generation.

Relative humidity is important, but not sufficient

Relative humidity (RH) describes how close air is to saturation at a given temperature. The same RH at different temperatures can correspond to different absolute amounts of water vapor.

Why condensation gets harder as conditions change

A condensation system must cool a surface below the dew point. Lower-moisture conditions generally reduce available condensate and can worsen the energy required per liter.

What to use for planning

Use local hourly temperature and humidity data, not a single annual-average RH value. Evaluate the hours you actually expect the machine to operate and compare those conditions with documented system performance.

Avoid any seller that treats “air contains moisture” as proof of useful output in every climate. The question is how much water a particular system can produce, at what energy cost, under your conditions.
